When: Sunday October 6, 2024 at 10:00am-12:00pm, with optional lunch in Terminal 1 to follow Where: San Francisco International Airport (SFO) (Directions: https://www.sfomuseum.org/aviation-museum-library/hours-directions) Meeting point: We will meet at the Aviation Museum at 10:00am, which is in the International Terminal, Departures Level, past the airline ticket counters toward Boarding Area A). Details about the tour: The San Francisco Airport Commission Aviation Library and Louis A. Turpen Aviation Museum provides unique opportunities for learning about the development of commercial aviation and the role it plays in our everyday lives. Located in the International Terminal of San Francisco International Airport, our tour will include a review of the development of SFO Museum and the general exhibition programming we are best-known for, the aviation library and archives collections, the aviation museum’s galleries, some back-of-house areas, and a post-security visit to Terminal 1’s galleries to visit two general exhibits: African Instruments and Rosie the Riveter. Note:
- Access to the post-security galleries will require a pre-approved security screening. Guests are to fill out a TSA security form 2 weeks prior to the visit in order to receive visitor badges.
- Validation for parking will be available.
