SLA Announces Candidacies for 2026 Board Election

Nominations Committee: Board of Directors Slate and Petition Deadline

The Nominations Committee is pleased to announce the official slate of candidates for the 2026 Board of Directors election. We are excited to share that the following members have been selected to stand for election:
Our 2026 candidates are:

For the 2026 President-Elect (President 2027, Past-President 2028), the candidates are:

• Anne Barker 
• J’Amy McCracken

One SLA member will be nominated for the position of Treasurer:

• Shelly Ray

Additionally, the following SLA members have been nominated for the four Board of Directors positions:

• Kathy Berger 
• Kelley Bunting 
• David Cappoli 
• Lisa Lopez

The SLA Bylaws provide for additional nominees to be proposed through a petition process. Should any member be proposed by petition, the petition must contain the following:

• Twenty-five (25) signatures of SLA voting members;
• Written acceptance of the nominee to be an SLA Board of Directors candidate; and
• A letter from the candidate’s employer/supervisor stating their support of the candidate’s SLA board service.

These three items must be sent to the attention of Martine DiDonato, Assistant Executive Director, at mdidonato@sla.org and received no later than Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. ET. If additional candidates are nominated by petition, SLA will announce the amended list of candidates to the SLA membership.
