Special Collections and University Archives collects, organizes, preserves, and makes accessible California State University, Long Beach’s rare books and collections and the University historical records. Your visit to Special Collections and University Archives will include some of our most interesting selections from our two collection areas. Special Collections includes rare and valuable publications such as first editions, limited editions, autographed copies, miniatures, as well as fine art and photographic prints. University Archives serves as a repository for materials documenting the history of California State University, Long Beach and includes retrospective campus publications such as newsletters, catalogs, syllabi, photographs, student newspapers and magazines campus yearbooks and much more. Presenter: Heather Steele Gajewski, Special Collections & University Archives Coordinator and Archivist Refreshments will be available outside Special Collections on the 3rd floor. Attendees can grab a refreshment and head down to the lower level I-Space. I-Space allows guests in their facility with refreshments.
4:00-5:00pm Innovation Space: https://www.csulb.edu/university-library/innovation-space This presentation is located on the lower level of the library, through the glass doors and to the left of the reading room. The Innovation Space (ISPACE) at the University Library is an interdisciplinary facility that serves the entire campus community. This will be a comprehensive tour of the 3D Print Lab, the 360 Theater, the XR Lab, and the Podcast Studio. During this tour, we’ll delve into how students, staff, and faculty members are actively utilizing these cutting-edge facilities. ISPACE was established by the former Dean of the Library, Roman Kochan in August 2018 and is now managed by Academic Technology Services (ATS).
