Communities

SLA is organized into communities.

  • Regional Communities that elect officers, issue bulletins or meeting announcements, hold three to nine program meetings during a year, and initiate special projects.
  • Divisional Communities that bring together those who practice in a unique discipline of special librarianship (e.g., finance or law).
  • Caucus Communities are informal groups within the association intended to serve as a focus for the interaction of members who share a common interest not covered by any association chapter, division, or committee at no additional fee to members.

Members of SLA may affiliate with as many communities as they desire without an additional charge.
